Canadians are far from amused after U.S. President Donald Trump suggested turning Canada into the 51st state. As tensions mount, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel has offered a comedic platform for Canadians to voice their frustration.
Kimmel highlighted that international tourism to the U.S. is down 12%, humorously pointing fingers at Canada, suggesting no nation is more displeased with America right now. He joked that a Kelowna, B.C. golf course brawl “seemed very American” and noted that Canadians, typically known for their politeness, now share a common enemy—the United States.
“You know, between the tariffs and this nonsense about becoming a state, Canadians have really bonded,” said Kimmel.
To give Canadians a voice, Kimmel debuted a new segment, “Angry Canadian of the Night,” featuring a passionate, cowboy-clad Canadian ranting against Trump’s annexation rhetoric, condemning the arrogance of assigning a monetary value to Canadian sovereignty.
Kimmel closed by inviting Canadians to share their frustrations on social media using the hashtag #PUCKOFF, promising his show would remain a safe haven for angry outbursts from the north.
