Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has warned that the United States will bear full legal responsibility for any Israeli strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, following U.S. media reports indicating Israel is preparing for such an attack.
The warning comes ahead of a fifth round of Omani-mediated nuclear talks between Iran and the U.S., scheduled in Rome. Araghchi, in a letter to the United Nations, cautioned against any aggressive moves by Israel, stating Iran would respond decisively to any threats or unlawful actions.
On Tuesday, CNN reported Israel is preparing to strike Iranian nuclear sites. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps spokesman Ali Mohammad Naini echoed the warnings, promising a “devastating and decisive response” if Israel acts, emphasizing the vulnerability of Israeli territory.
Meanwhile, Iranian citizens demonstrated near the Fordow nuclear facility, voicing strong support for Iran’s nuclear program and chanting anti-American slogans.
The nuclear negotiations mark the highest-level dialogue between Iran and the U.S. since Washington’s 2018 withdrawal from the landmark nuclear deal under President Donald Trump. Tensions remain high, with Israel continuing to threaten military action and both nations engaged in a long-standing shadow conflict.
