OTTAWA, ON, March 6, 2025 /CNW/ – Canadian Heritage and the Dialogue Network are set to celebrate the International Day of La Francophonie with a dynamic showcase of French Canadian artists on March 20 at La Cité in Ottawa. The event, which will be free to stream online, highlights the rich diversity of Francophone culture through music.
The Honourable Rachel Bendayan, Minister of Official Languages and Associate Minister of Public Safety, announced the lineup, featuring a mix of emerging and established artists who represent the vitality of Canada’s Francophone music scene. The performers include:
- Guyaume Boulianne – a mesmerizing voice in contemporary French music
- Yao – a unique fusion of slam, hip-hop, and chanson
- Andrina Turenne – a soulful artist with diverse heritage
- Senaya – an eclectic blend of soul, jazz, and world music
- Surprise Emerging Artist – a rising talent making waves in the industry

March 20 marks the International Day of La Francophonie, an annual celebration of the French language and Francophone culture. The Dialogue Network, founded in 2004, promotes collaboration within the Francophonie through cultural projects, research initiatives, and awareness activities. La Cité, Ontario’s largest French-language applied arts and technology college, has been a pillar of Francophone education and culture in the National Capital Region and Eastern Ontario for 25 years.
