Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn are set to headline a high-stakes Ring Magazine event this Saturday at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, live on Sky Sports Box Office. The bout, scheduled at middleweight, marks a significant move up in weight for Benn, while Eubank must navigate strict rehydration limits—no more than 10lbs above the 160lbs limit on fight day.
Eubank, a seasoned pro since 2011, admits the weight management restriction is “uncharted territory” for him. Normally adding around 14lbs after weigh-in, he now faces a tough decision on whether to limit rehydration or cut again before the fight.
Despite the added difficulty, Eubank remains unfazed. “This is what we do as professional athletes. As elite-level fighters we have to go through these trials,” he told Sky Sports.
His opponent, Conor Benn, is entering new terrain too, stepping up from welterweight for one of the biggest fights of his career. The fight is a major test of Benn’s ability to compete at the higher division.
Former world champion George Groves, who previously fought Eubank, believes the middleweight will handle the weight limit just fine, describing him as someone who maintains a consistent physique and doesn’t engage in drastic weight cuts.
All eyes are on how both fighters manage the final 24 hours—and who will have the edge when they finally enter the ring.
