Etihad Airways has announced the launch of direct flights from Abu Dhabi to Charlotte, North Carolina, starting 4 May 2026. This marks the airline’s sixth U.S. destination and its first service to the southeastern financial hub, making Etihad the only airline from the Gulf region to operate non-stop flights to Charlotte.
The new route will operate four times per week aboard Etihad’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner, offering passengers the airline’s award-winning service in both Business and Economy cabins. The addition supports Etihad’s strategic goal of enhancing connectivity between the UAE and the United States.
“Charlotte represents a strategic addition to our U.S. network, unlocking direct access to one of the country’s most dynamic and fast-growing regions,” said Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways.
Charlotte, a rising center of finance, technology, and culture, is home to major U.S. corporations and attractions like the NASCAR Hall of Fame. Charlotte Douglas International Airport ranked sixth globally for aircraft movements in 2024, highlighting the city’s growing influence as a transport hub.
The schedule offers early morning departures from Abu Dhabi and midday returns from Charlotte, ensuring smooth onward connections across Etihad’s global network. Passengers benefit from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Preclearance at Zayed International Airport, allowing for expedited domestic arrivals in Charlotte.
