Eight Children Injured After School Bus Rear-Ends Tractor in Southern Manitoba

Eight children were sent to the hospital with minor injuries on Tuesday morning after a school bus rear-ended a tractor in southern Manitoba. The incident occurred near the intersection of Road 37 West and Road 43 North in the RM of Grey, approximately 35 kilometers south of Portage la Prairie.

RCMP reported that the bus, which was transporting 31 children from the Prairie Spirit School Division, collided with the tractor as it was collecting debris from a grader traveling southbound along Road 37 West. The grader itself was not involved in the collision.

While the injuries were reported as minor, the eight children were taken to the hospital for treatment. Both drivers of the bus and tractor were also transported to the hospital as a precaution. Alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the accident.
