Cristiano Ronaldo Declares Himself the Best in Football History, Sighting Reasons For Messi, Pelé, and Maradona Preferences For Fans

Cristiano Ronaldo has sparked controversy with his latest bold statements in an interview with Spanish journalist Edu Aguirre for El Chiringuito de Jugones, where he proclaimed himself as the most complete footballer in history. The legendary forward confidently declared that no one, including football icons Diego Maradona, Pelé, and Lionel Messi, surpasses his abilities.

Ronaldo emphasized his goal-scoring records, proudly stating, “I am the most complete footballer that has ever existed. While you may prefer Messi, Pelé, or Maradona, I stand out as the most complete and the best in history. I have yet to see anyone better than myself.” He also pointed to his impressive statistics, including being the all-time leading scorer and ranking in the top ten for historical goals scored with his left foot despite not being left-footed. “These are numbers that affirm I am the most complete player to have ever existed,” he added.

In the same interview, Ronaldo reflected on his happiest moments at Real Madrid, a club where he achieved everything he set out to accomplish. He discussed his fierce rivalry with Lionel Messi and FC Barcelona, expressing how much he relished scoring at Camp Nou, even more than at Santiago Bernabéu. “I thrived in that atmosphere; the jeers only fueled my desire to score and silence the critics. I preferred scoring at Camp Nou over Bernabéu,” he confessed. He also shared a glimpse of his relationship with Messi, revealing how he once helped translate for the Argentinian during an awards ceremony and noting that Messi always treated him well.

Ronaldo also addressed his departure from Real Madrid, explaining that his time at the club had naturally come to an end. “My cycle was over, and I longed for a different motivation. My exit didn’t drain me; the president agreed to my departure, although our negotiations could have gone better. He wanted me to stay, but I was already set on leaving,” Ronaldo explained. Despite his exit, he expressed respect for club president Florentino Pérez, mentioning that he occasionally speaks with him and wouldn’t rule out a potential return after his career ends.
