Cardi B to Receive ASCAP’s Voice of the Culture Award

Cardi B will be honored with the prestigious Voice of the Culture Award at the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards on June 8 in Los Angeles. The award recognizes ASCAP members who have significantly shaped music and culture through their influence and creativity.

In a statement, Cardi B expressed gratitude for the recognition, saying it means everything to her that her music has stayed true to who she is and inspires others to do the same. She follows Usher, who received the honor last year.

Cardi B has already made history with ASCAP, being the first woman to win back-to-back Rhythm & Soul Songwriter of the Year Awards in 2020. She holds 23 ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards and is a Grammy-winning artist, known for her hit album “Invasion of Privacy” and chart-toppers like “Bodak Yellow,” “I Like It,” and “WAP.”

ASCAP president Paul Williams praised her for breaking barriers in hip-hop, noting her authenticity and impact in advocating for others.
