Folk musician Aengus Finnan is on an extraordinary journey, cycling across Canada to explore the stories behind songs that celebrate various places in the country. His project, “The Great Canadian Song Cycle,” combines his love for music and adventure as he pedals through the landscapes that have inspired some of Canada’s most beloved tunes.
A Musical Adventure
Aengus Finnan, known for his contributions to folk music and cultural administration, is currently cycling on his Trek Checkpoint bike, aiming to cover 8,000 kilometers. His journey, which began in Newfoundland, will conclude on Vancouver Island by mid-September, just in time for the 50th anniversary of Lester B. Pearson College, his alma mater.
