The Canadian Arts & Fashion Awards (CAFA) 2024, held in Toronto on October 19, celebrated the finest in Canadian fashion design, with Beaufille and Spencer Badu crowned as this year’s standout designers. Chloe and Parris Gordon, the creative duo behind Beaufille, received the prestigious Womenswear Designer of the Year award, while Spencer Badu took home the accolade for Menswear Designer of the Year.
Maguire was recognized as the Accessory Designer of the Year, and Nobis clinched the award for Top Outerwear Brand, highlighting the diversity and excellence of Canadian fashion. A new addition to this year’s event was the Indigenous Fashion Award, introduced by CAFA President Vicky Milner, which aims to honor the creativity and craftsmanship of Indigenous designers, brands, and artisans.
In addition to the top design awards, the night saw fashion legend Linda Evangelista honored with the Vanguard Award, and Ben Barry, Dean of Fashion at Parsons School of Design, receiving the Changemaker Award. Other notable winners included Roots, awarded for outstanding achievement, and Jontay Kahm, recognized for Emerging Talent in Fashion. The event continues to be a cornerstone for celebrating innovation, sustainability, and influence within the Canadian fashion industry.
