Canada’s 158th birthday celebrations in Ottawa will showcase an impressive lineup of Canadian artists including Sarah McLachlan, Tom Cochrane, Amanda Marshall, Randy Bachman, and Ottawa’s Talk. The main events will take place at LeBreton Flats on July 1, with a full day of activities and performances for all ages.
The national noon ceremony will highlight performances by Amanda Marshall, Garou, Thompson Egbo-Egbo, Rafaëlle Roy, and Alli Walker. The evening show from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., hosted by Isabelle Racicot, will feature a star-studded lineup including McLachlan, Bachman, Mitsou, Roch Voisine, Coeur de Pirate, Josh Ross, Dumas, Ivan Boivin-Flamand, and more.
Following the performances, the festivities will conclude with the Tim Hortons Canada Day Fireworks over Ottawa-Gatineau at 10 p.m. Interactive activities such as professional dance performances, outdoor short films, and a DJ set by Miss Shelton will also be part of the LeBreton Flats celebrations.
Additional events on Parliament Hill include the Changing of the Guard Ceremony, a Royal Canadian Air Force Pipes and Drums performance, and a Snowbirds air show. Canada Day events will also be held at the Supreme Court of Canada, celebrating its 150th anniversary, and in Old Hull, featuring a performance by The Strumbellas.
Canadian Heritage Minister Steven Guilbeault encouraged Canadians everywhere to join in the celebrations, emphasizing the importance of unity and national pride.
