BTQ Technologies and Quandela Partner to Pioneer Quantum-Secured Blockchain Protocol

BTQ Technologies Corp. (CBOE CA: BTQ) (FSE: NG3) (OTCQX: BTQQF), a global quantum technology company, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with French quantum computing firm Quandela SAS to explore quantum-secured blockchain solutions. The collaboration focuses on BTQ’s Quantum Sampling Proof-of-Work (QSPoW) protocol, a novel blockchain validation method using boson sampling to cut energy consumption while increasing cryptographic resilience.

The partnership will evaluate Quandela’s photonic quantum computing and boson-sampling capabilities via its Perceval cloud platform, applying the outputs in BTQ’s QSPoW testnet. The goal is to assess real-world use cases and explore commercialization paths for energy-efficient, quantum-resistant blockchain validation.

Unlike traditional Proof-of-Work, QSPoW uses photons passed through optical networks to generate complex outputs hard to replicate without quantum machines, rendering it ASIC-resistant. BTQ’s QSPoW aims to create a quantum-safe value store, countering threats posed by future quantum computers—a concern highlighted in BlackRock’s recent risk disclosure regarding Bitcoin’s vulnerabilities.

Quandela will provide BTQ with datasets from its Belenos quantum processor for testnet trials, as both companies work to minimize quantum process errors and enhance integration. The MOU enables joint analysis, public updates, and shared advancements in post-quantum blockchain security.
