Bianca Andreescu’s Bold Comeback: “I’m Not Messing Around Anymore”

Canadian tennis star Bianca Andreescu is making a determined comeback, declaring this return her “last chance” after years of injury setbacks. The 2019 U.S. Open champion has revamped nearly every aspect of her life—from her coaching team to her diet—in a bid to reclaim her place among the sport’s elite.

Now coached by Antonio Fernandez Cantisano and following a strict gluten- and dairy-free version of the Bulletproof Diet, the 24-year-old is also five months sober. These changes are already yielding results: Andreescu beat two top-20 players at the Italian Open before falling in the fourth round to Olympic gold medallist Qinwen Zheng.

The Mississauga native, once ranked No. 4 in the world, is projected to re-enter the top 100. Her goal is clear—another Grand Slam win. “I’ve never been as committed to my craft as I am now,” Andreescu said. “I know I can do it again.”
