The BC Lions have officially re-signed wide receiver Keon Hatcher to a one-year contract on Monday. Hatcher had been released by the team on Sunday at his own request after both sides failed to agree on a restructured deal. His previous contract would have earned him a $40,000 bonus on February 7 had it remained active.
Hatcher surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in his second CFL season in 2022, scoring five touchdowns, and followed it up with an impressive 1,226-yard, six-touchdown campaign in 2023, earning CFL All-Star honors. He suffered a torn Achilles in the Western Final loss to Winnipeg that year, with his recovery extending into the 2024 season.
Despite the setback, Hatcher made a strong impact this past season, recording 38 receptions for 608 yards over 11 games. His standout performance came in Week 21 against the Montreal Alouettes, where he caught eight passes for 117 yards.
Hatcher’s return to the black and orange is great news for BC Lions fans, as he continues to prove he can compete at an elite level.
