PharmAccess Nigeria Appoints Advisory Board to Drive Healthcare Innovation

PharmAccess Nigeria has strengthened its mission to bridge healthcare equity gaps by appointing three new members to its Advisory Board. The appointees include Wiebe Boer, Chief Growth Officer at JIPA Network; Ebere Okereke, Senior Technical Adviser at the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change; and Olufemi Sunmonu, Program Director for EQUIP and Co-founder of PurpleSource Healthcare.

The board, comprising experts in healthcare policy, digital transformation, and investment, will provide strategic guidance to scale transformative healthcare models across Nigeria. Njide Ndili, Country Director of PharmAccess, highlighted the importance of this development, emphasizing that the advisory board will advance initiatives in digital health, value-based care, and sustainable healthcare financing.

PharmAccess has pioneered healthcare innovations in Nigeria for over a decade, implementing programs like the Kwara Health Insurance Scheme, the SafeCare quality improvement methodology, and mobile tuberculosis screening tools. With growing adoption of digital and mobile technologies, the board aims to bolster healthcare innovation, sustainable financing, and strategic partnerships.

The new board members bring extensive expertise to this effort. Wiebe Boer, a seasoned social entrepreneur, has led impact-driven initiatives through organizations like the Rockefeller Foundation and Shell’s All On fund. Ebere Okereke, with over 30 years of global health experience, has shaped health policy at institutions like Public Health England and the Africa CDC. Olufemi Sunmonu, a strategist in digital healthcare, has driven data-driven solutions impacting millions and co-founded a network of tech-enabled primary care clinics in Nigeria.

PharmAccess Nigeria, part of the pan-African PharmAccess Group funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, continues to drive health system transformation and promote equitable access to quality healthcare.
