Arsenal Held to Another Draw as Brentford Salvage Point at the Emirates

Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes took another hit as they were held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by Brentford at the Emirates Stadium. Despite a high after their midweek triumph over Real Madrid, the Gunners couldn’t convert their dominance into three points.

Declan Rice’s surging run and assist to Thomas Partey in the 61st minute gave Arsenal the lead, hinting at a crucial win that would close the gap on Liverpool. But Brentford’s Yoane Wissa struck with 16 minutes to go, denying Arsenal and giving Liverpool the chance to stretch their lead to 13 points.

Kieran Tierney thought he had scored earlier, but his goal was ruled out by semi-automated offside technology. Moments later, a controversial yellow card for Christian Norgaard’s challenge on Gabriel Martinelli had Arsenal fans calling for red.

Arsenal made five changes from their Champions League lineup, including a start for Ethan Nwaneri. Brentford, sitting 11th, remain in contention for a European spot and showed resilience against a top-tier side.

With Champions League action against Real Madrid up next, Arsenal’s attention shifts back to Europe, as another domestic draw signals the end of their title challenge.
