Air India has entered into a codeshare agreement with Virgin Australia, enabling passengers to travel to 16 cities across Australia and New Zealand on a single ticket. Under this unilateral partnership, Air India’s flight code ‘AI’ will be placed on Virgin Australia-operated flights.
The partnership enhances travel options for Air India customers flying from Delhi to Melbourne or Sydney by providing seamless onward connections to destinations like Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Gold Coast, and Queenstown.
Currently, Air India operates 14 non-stop flights weekly between India and Australia, connecting Delhi to Melbourne and Sydney. The airline boasts over 16 codeshare and approximately 100 interline agreements with global carriers.
Last month, Air India also announced a similar partnership with Kenya Airways.
