Air Canada marked a major milestone in its European expansion with the successful launch of its newest international route from Toronto to Prague, Czech Republic. The inaugural flight departed Friday evening and landed Saturday, June 7, opening a new direct connection between North America and Central Europe.
“We are excited to return to Prague, our newest Europe destination now added to our global network,” said Mark Galardo, executive vice president and chief commercial officer and president, Cargo. “Our flights connect two countries, facilitating travel, tourism and trade… Whether people are visiting family and friends in Prague, exploring its celebrated architecture, bohemian history and rich culture, or customers from Central Europe visiting and exploring Canada from coast to coast, our flights make discovering all that our two countries offer easier than ever.”
The new route is part of a broader summer expansion of Air Canada’s European services. Earlier this week, the airline launched flights between Montreal and Porto. In May, it introduced a route to Naples, and in April, it resumed service between Ottawa and London Heathrow. The expansion continues later this month with the inauguration of a Montreal to Edinburgh route.
Air Canada’s Toronto–Prague flights will be operated using the Airbus A330-300, offering a comfortable long-haul travel experience for both business and leisure passengers.
