Air Canada has inaugurated a new transatlantic service connecting Prague, Czechia, to Toronto, Canada’s largest city, marking the only direct air link between the two nations. The inaugural flight, AC935, departed Prague on June 7, celebrated with a water cannon salute and an official ceremony at Prague Airport.
Operating three times weekly until September 29, 2025, the route offers nonstop flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from Prague to Toronto, returning Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Flights will be operated by Airbus A330-300s and Boeing 787 Dreamliners, providing Business, Premium Economy, and Economy class options.
This new seasonal route aims to deepen tourism, reconnect families, and stimulate business opportunities across the Atlantic. With over 8.5 million people within two hours of Prague Airport, the service is expected to be popular not only for travel to Canada but also for onward connections to the U.S., Mexico, and the Caribbean.
Prague Airport Chairman Jiří Pos highlighted the significance of reinstating the Toronto connection, which was last available before the 2019 COVID-19 pandemic, anticipating around 25,000 passengers on the route this year.
Toronto is a global hub known for its business, finance, technology, and culture, attracting millions with attractions such as the CN Tower, world-class museums, a vibrant culinary scene, and events like the Toronto International Film Festival. It also serves as a gateway to natural wonders like Niagara Falls.
This summer, Air Canada offers up to 51 daily flights between Europe and Canada, linking key European cities with Canadian hubs in Toronto, Montréal, Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa, and Halifax. Passengers traveling onward to the U.S. benefit from preclearance of U.S. customs and immigration at Canadian airports, easing their arrival as domestic travelers.
