Aer Lingus Launches Direct Flights from Dublin to Cancún Starting January 2026

Aer Lingus has announced the launch of its first direct flight from Dublin to Cancún, Mexico, beginning January 6, 2026. The new route will operate three times weekly on the airline’s A330-300 aircraft until April 29, 2026, offering Irish travellers a direct, convenient option to escape the winter chill and enjoy the warm climate and rich culture of the Mexican Caribbean.

Cancún is a well-loved destination among Irish tourists, known for its golden beaches, crystal-clear waters, and famous archaeological sites such as Chichén Itzá, Tulum, and Coba. The region’s culinary scene also draws food enthusiasts with authentic Mexican dishes, including lobster pizza, zesty ceviche, and freshly made guacamole.

The new service also opens opportunities for travellers across Europe and the UK to connect through Dublin, enhancing Cancún’s appeal as a versatile destination for honeymooners, families, and winter sun seekers.

Aer Lingus CEO Lynne Embleton highlighted the growing demand for winter sun destinations and the rich cultural experiences Mexico offers. The launch coincides with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ireland and Mexico, strengthening economic, tourism, and cultural ties between the two countries.

This direct flight is set to deepen Ireland’s connection with Mexico, offering travellers a seamless gateway to explore Cancún’s beaches, history, cuisine, and vibrant atmosphere.
