Addison Barger delivered a standout performance on Sunday, hitting a solo home run and adding a two-run single to lead the Toronto Blue Jays to a 5–0 victory over the Detroit Tigers in a split-squad spring training game at TD Ballpark.
Barger opened the scoring in the second inning with his second home run of spring training. He later extended Toronto’s lead in the third inning with a two-run single that brought in George Springer and Nathan Lukes to make it 3–0.
On the mound, Kevin Gausman delivered a solid outing for Toronto, allowing three hits over 3 1/3 innings while striking out three batters.
In the Blue Jays’ other split-squad matchup, Toronto edged the Baltimore Orioles 1–0 in another shutout performance.
