Vince McMahon Accused of Sexual Misconduct: Former WWE Employee Requests Waiver of NDAs

In a significant legal development, a former WWE employee, Janel Grant, has requested that WWE and ex-CEO Vince McMahon waive the confidentiality agreements signed by former and current employees. Grant, who filed a lawsuit accusing McMahon of sexual battery and trafficking, aims to allow others to come forward with similar allegations. The request was sent via email to WWE, McMahon, and former WWE executive John Laurinaitis’ legal representatives.

Grant, who worked for WWE from 2019 to 2022, accuses McMahon and Laurinaitis of sexual assault, harassment, and human trafficking in her January lawsuit. McMahon stepped down as CEO in 2022 amid an investigation into similar allegations. Despite denying the accusations, McMahon’s resignation followed a day after Grant filed her lawsuit.

Grant’s attorney, Ann Callis, stated, “If WWE and Endeavor are serious about parting ways with Vince McMahon and the toxic workplace culture, they should have no problem with releasing employees from their NDAs.”

This case echoes similar instances, such as the Weinstein Co. and NBC Universal, where companies waived NDAs for sexual misconduct victims to speak out. Grant’s case seeks to challenge the $3 million NDA she was pressured into signing upon leaving WWE. Her legal team is pushing for the agreement to be voided, citing McMahon’s breach of the deal.
