Nigeria: Police Pressure Forces Kidnappers to Flee as Four Victims Escape in Niger State

The Niger State Police Command confirmed that four kidnap victims escaped from their abductors in Sarkin-Pawa, Munya Local Government Area, following sustained pressure from a joint security team. The victims—Deborah Daina, Gambo Amos, Cyprus Titus, and Satti Iko—were abducted on February 20 during an attack on Hayin-Dogo and Dangunu villages. One of the initial victims, Usman Daina, had been released two days after the incident.

According to police spokesperson Wasiu Abiodun, the coordinated clearance and rescue operations since the abductions played a critical role in the victims’ eventual escape on May 22 around noon. After their escape, the victims received medical attention and have since been reunited with their families.

Commissioner of Police Adamu Elleman praised the security forces for their bravery and reiterated the commitment of law enforcement to safeguard lives and property across the state.
