Scotiabank confirmed Wednesday that its mobile and online banking services have been “fully restored” following a brief outage that affected hundreds of users. The disruption began shortly after 8 a.m. EDT, with Downdetector registering a peak of around 675 outage reports at 8:36 a.m.
A notice posted in the bank’s mobile app stated that services were “currently unavailable,” and the outage spanned from approximately 8:15 a.m. to 9 a.m. EDT. Scotiabank has not disclosed the cause of the disruption.
The outage impacted customers across Canada during peak morning hours, with users unable to access accounts or perform transactions online or through the mobile app. Service has since resumed, and Scotiabank says all systems are now operating normally.
