WestJet has broadened its codeshare agreement with Air France and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, significantly increasing European travel options for Canadian passengers. Through key hubs at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport (AMS) and Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG), WestJet now connects travellers to 59 European destinations this summer.
The expanded partnership enables single-ticket bookings, seamless baggage transfers, and the ability to earn WestJet Rewards points. It also enhances WestJet’s transatlantic network, especially benefitting travellers in Atlantic Canada.
“For guests originating in, or connecting through Atlantic Canada in particular, these enhancements are a gamechanger – offering guests travelling from or through Halifax and St. John’s more destinations, fewer layovers and convenient access to Europe,” said Jared Mikoch-Gerke, WestJet’s Director of Airport Affairs and Alliances.
The airline’s new Halifax-Amsterdam route links Canadian travellers with 14 KLM-connected cities including Brussels, Prague, Helsinki, Lisbon, Porto, Bologna, Florence, Milan-Linate, and multiple French destinations like Nice, Bordeaux, Marseille, and Toulouse.
From Paris, additional Air France connections are available to Bucharest, Budapest, Prague, and Bologna for passengers flying from Calgary, Halifax, and St. John’s.
