TransLink has unveiled an ambitious plan to significantly expand bus service across Metro Vancouver, following the recent approval of a new investment strategy aimed at enhancing regional public transportation over the coming years.
The updated investment plan, endorsed by the Mayors’ Council and the TransLink Board, is designed to address growing demand across the region’s fast-developing neighborhoods. The initiative will add more frequent bus routes, increase capacity, and improve transit accessibility as part of a broader effort to keep pace with population growth and reduce congestion.
According to TransLink, the plan includes the purchase of hundreds of new buses, both conventional and electric, as well as service improvements on key high-demand routes.
