Iran has accused the United States of striking an Iranian oil tanker near Kharg Island in the Persian Gulf, adding to tensions in the region as hostilities between Tehran and Washington intensify.
Iranian media reported that four U.S. missiles hit the tanker approximately 6 miles (10 kilometers) from Kharg Island, one of Iran’s most important oil-export hubs. The crew was reportedly being evacuated, and no casualties were immediately reported.
