Snowstorm Expected to Hit Ottawa-Gatineau Area Monday Night

Environment Canada has issued snow warnings for the Ottawa-Gatineau region, with the Deep River area expected to receive the heaviest snowfall. A snowfall warning is in effect for Deep River, where 15 to 25 centimetres of snow are anticipated. The snow is expected to start Monday evening, with conditions worsening overnight and easing by Tuesday afternoon.

Other areas under snow advisories include Cornwall, Ottawa, Pembroke, and Perth, where snowfall amounts range from five to 15 centimetres, with up to 10 centimetres expected in Cornwall. Blowing snow may also create hazardous travel conditions. Western Quebec is expected to receive 10 to 15 centimetres of snow, but without significant wind.

Colder temperatures are also in the forecast, with overnight lows around –10°C in Petawawa and daytime highs of about –3°C in Ottawa and Petawawa on Tuesday. This is a significant dip from the usual average daytime high of 9°C for this time of year.
