Canada Dominates China to Win Bronze at Men’s Curling Worlds

Canada closed out the 2025 BKT Tires World Men’s Curling Championships with a decisive 11-2 bronze medal victory over China in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. While it wasn’t the gold they hoped for, Team Jacobs delivered a dominant performance to cap an impressive run on home ice.

Skip Brad Jacobs, aiming for his first world title since finishing second in 2013, expressed pride in his team’s effort. “We wanted to win. We wanted to come out of this thing strong… and we were able to do that today,” he said. Teammates echoed the sentiment, emphasizing their consistent high-level play throughout the week.

Canada seized control early, scoring three in the first end and another five in the fourth after a missed shot from China’s skip Xiaoming Xu. The Canadians added two more in the fifth and finished with a single in the eighth after officials enforced the rule to complete all eight ends.

Jacobs credited their comfort on Sheet C for their precision. “It felt really easy to put the broom down. Felt really easy to call line on that sheet,” he said.

Since the Brier in February, Team Jacobs has lost just three of their last 27 games, a record that includes only four losses in their last 34. “That’s a heck of a record and I’m really proud of that,” Jacobs added.

The Canadian crowd played a major role in the team’s experience. “The support the fans and the people of Saskatchewan gave us… was something really special that we’ll never forget,” Jacobs said. Teammate Marc Kennedy described the electric atmosphere as “one of the better fan experiences I’ve had in my life.”

This bronze marks Canada’s eighth all-time at the World Men’s Curling Championship and their first since 2015. With their last gold coming in 2017, the drought continues, but Team Jacobs is already focused on their next challenge: the Canadian Olympic Curling Trials in Halifax this November.
