Mandarin Oriental has officially assumed management of the iconic Hôtel Lutetia, now rebranded as Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris. This marks a historic milestone for the group as it expands its luxury footprint on both sides of the Seine. As the only Palace hotel on Paris’s Left Bank, Lutetia offers guests a vibrant, culturally rich experience that complements the Group’s contemporary flagship on Rue Saint-Honoré.
An inauguration ceremony was held with Mandarin Oriental Group CEO Laurent Kleitman, the Akirov family—owners of the hotel—and Jean Pierre Trevisan, Managing Director of the property, in attendance. This move strengthens Mandarin Oriental’s Parisian presence by offering two unique Palace hotel experiences, each embodying the brand’s legendary service and cultural depth.
Kleitman emphasized the brand’s commitment to preserving the historic soul of Lutetia while elevating its luxury offering. “Our dual presence in Paris emphasizes our deep commitment to this iconic city,” he noted.
The hotel, originally established in 1910 by the Boucicaut family of Le Bon Marché fame, has hosted historic figures such as Picasso, Matisse, de Gaulle, and James Joyce. The recent restoration by architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte has masterfully preserved the building’s Art Nouveau and Art Deco elements while introducing contemporary luxury throughout.
Owner Georgi Akirov expressed confidence in Mandarin Oriental’s ability to uphold and enhance Lutetia’s legacy, citing the shared vision for its continued evolution. He thanked loyal guests, travel partners, and the dedicated hotel team for their ongoing support.
Mandarin Oriental Lutetia, Paris now stands as a beacon of refined hospitality, offering a unique blend of heritage, wellness, and Parisian elegance.
