A massive section of a decommissioned Boeing 747, once a party venue at the 2017 Burning Man Festival, is finding new life near the Las Vegas Strip.
The cockpit and part of the fuselage were transported Wednesday from Las Vegas Motor Speedway to AREA15, an entertainment district known for immersive art experiences like Meow Wolf.
Organizers revealed that the aircraft, stripped down after its Burning Man days in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert, will be reimagined as an event and nightlife hotspot at AREA15.
“We just really want to celebrate the arts community and find immersive and experiential ways (to enjoy art),” said Pearl Verzosa, AREA15’s marketing director. “We are open for everybody. We want families, friends, partners just to have a really good time here. And I think that the airplane will be one of those really special places.”
