FBI Team Arrives in Cuba to Investigate Deadly Shooting of U.S.-Flagged Speedboat

A team from the Federal Bureau of Investigation has arrived in Cuba to investigate the fatal shooting of several individuals aboard a U.S.-flagged speedboat, in a case that is raising diplomatic and security concerns between the two countries.

The incident occurred on February 25, when Cuban authorities say border patrol forces exchanged gunfire with occupants of the vessel, resulting in five deaths and multiple injuries. Cuban officials have described the group as suspected infiltrators and labeled the घटना a potential terrorist act involving Cuban expatriates allegedly based in the United States.

The U.S. government has denied any involvement or connection to the individuals on the boat, emphasizing the need for a full and independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the confrontation.

According to officials, the FBI technical team arrived earlier this week to examine evidence, assess the events that led to the shooting, and provide clarity on conflicting claims from both sides.

Weapons reportedly recovered from the speedboat have been presented by Cuban authorities as part of their case, while U.S. investigators are expected to review all available information before drawing conclusions.

The investigation is seen as a critical step in determining accountability and could have broader implications for U.S.-Cuba relations depending on its findings.
