Rogers Bank and Mastercard have unveiled the Rogers Red World Legend Mastercard, described as the first World Legend Mastercard product available in Canada, targeting high-spending consumers focused on travel, dining and entertainment.
The new card links premium payment benefits with Rogers’ telecom and media services, including wireless roaming and digital subscriptions. Mastercard positions the World Legend tier at the top of its consumer card hierarchy, offering enhanced lifestyle and experience-based rewards.
“We’re proud to be the first in Canada to offer the World Legend Mastercard and to provide Canadians a suite of benefits that no other card can match,” said Nick Bednarz, Chief Executive Officer of Rogers Bank. “With this new card, customers get more value out of their Rogers services, combined with Mastercard’s global benefits.”
A key feature of the card is higher cash-back redemption when rewards are used on Rogers products and services. Customers receive a 3 percent cash-back value when redeeming points toward eligible Rogers purchases. The card also earns cash back on global spending and carries no foreign exchange fees for international travel.
Entertainment benefits are central to the offering. Cardholders gain access to Rogers Beyond the Seat for ticket access and special experiences, along with a USD 200 annual entertainment credit for streaming and television services such as Rogers Xfinity and Sportsnet+.
Eligible Rogers wireless customers also receive 10 complimentary Roam Like Home days each year for travel outside Canada. Dining perks include access to exclusive restaurant reservations as part of a broader set of experience-driven benefits.
“Canadians are seeking more than rewards. They expect personalised benefits, insider access and VIP treatment that brings the exceptional into the everyday,” said Craig Reiff, Senior Vice President of Core Payments at Mastercard Canada. He added that the new card and The Mastercard Collection are designed to unlock premium experiences and value for cardholders.
The launch also introduces The Mastercard Collection to Canadian consumers across World, World Elite and World Legend products, offering dining, entertainment and travel privileges. Initially, the benefits apply to Canadians travelling internationally, with local experiences expected to be added through 2026 and beyond.
As part of the rollout, Rogers Bank and Mastercard are promoting access to events linked to the McLaren F1 Team partnership. Cardholders will have a chance to win a trip to the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, England, including round-trip airfare to London, hotel accommodation and curated culinary experiences. Four prizes will be awarded, each valued at approximately CAD 21,800.
The move reflects a broader strategy by card issuers to bundle lifestyle access with financial products. In Canada, competition for premium customers has increasingly focused on streaming credits, travel insurance and accelerated rewards. Rogers Bank’s approach ties these incentives directly to its connectivity and media ecosystem, which includes wireless, broadband, television and sports broadcasting assets.
Rogers Bank serves as the financial services arm of Rogers, while Mastercard is the network partner behind the World Legend tier and The Mastercard Collection, which aims to expand premium consumer benefits across global markets with a strong emphasis on travel and partner experiences.
