Winnipeg police have charged a man with sexually assaulting two children at an unlicensed daycare located in the city’s south end.
Authorities revealed that the charges, laid in September, include three counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual interference. While the man was an adult at the time of his arrest, police have withheld his identity due to the fact that some charges stem from incidents alleged to have occurred when he was a minor.
The accused was not employed by the daycare but reportedly had access to the home where the daycare operated.
To protect the privacy of the children and their families, police are refraining from releasing additional details about the case.
The suspect has been released under strict conditions, which include a prohibition on contact with children under the age of 16.
This case raises concerns about unlicensed daycare operations and the importance of vigilance to ensure child safety.
