Bolt Expands into Canada’s Corporate Travel Market with Hopp for Business

Bolt has launched a new service in Canada aimed at corporate clients, called Hopp for Business, adding a managed travel layer to its ride-hailing platform. The move targets companies looking to better control staff travel spending as corporate travel volumes rise nationwide.

Canada was the 13th largest business travel market globally in 2024, with spending expected to grow 17.7% to CAD $44.3 billion in 2025, up from CAD $36.5 billion in 2024, according to the Global Business Travel Association.

André de la Torre, Bolt’s Regional General Manager, said the launch in Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) is part of the company’s broader effort to challenge the North American ride-hailing market. “Launching Hopp for Business… introduces meaningful choice and innovation back into a market that has become overly concentrated,” de la Torre said.

Toronto and Beyond
Hopp for Business builds on Hopp’s entry into Toronto, where riders have already travelled over 72 million kilometres since February 2025. The service covers Toronto and multiple surrounding municipalities, including Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, Hamilton, Oakville, Oshawa, Whitby, Milton, Burlington, Pickering, Aurora, Halton Hills, King City, and Ajax.

Corporate Travel Features
The service offers centralised billing, spending rules, and consolidated invoicing to simplify expense management. Finance teams can set travel conditions and spending limits, while employees benefit from automatically generated receipts and integration with expense management platforms, saving an estimated 20 minutes per month.

Hopp for Business also includes Ride Booker, a feature allowing organisations to book travel for employees, partners, or guests—even if the passenger doesn’t have the Hopp app. Bolt says companies using the service have seen savings of up to 25% by centralising travel spending.

Market Context
Canada’s ride-hailing market has long been dominated by two major players, leaving limited room for challengers. By focusing on corporate accounts, Bolt aims to tap into predictable, repeatable travel volumes while meeting finance teams’ reporting and budget requirements. The rise of hybrid work and the return of in-person meetings have made local mobility increasingly important for businesses.

“Hopp for Business is designed specifically for the way Canadian companies travel,” de la Torre said. “It gives finance teams control, gives employees convenience, and gives organizations real savings at a time when budgets matter more than ever.”

Bolt operates in over 50 countries and 600 cities worldwide, with more than 200 million customers and 4.5 million drivers using the platform. Corporate mobility now sits alongside its broader ride-hailing and transport services.
