Andrew Garfield, best known for his role as the web-slinging superhero in The Amazing Spider-Man series, recently addressed ongoing rumors about his potential involvement in the fourth installment of Marvel’s Tom Holland-led Spider-Man franchise. In an interview with GQ UK published on Thursday, Garfield put the speculation to rest.
“I’m gonna disappoint you,” Garfield said. “Yeah, no. But I know no one’s gonna trust anything I say from now on.”
A History of Denials
Garfield’s statement comes after his high-profile cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), which he spent nearly a year denying before the film’s release. In the blockbuster, Garfield reprised his role as Spider-Man, joining forces with fellow Spidey actors Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland in a multiverse-spanning adventure.

In his latest GQ UK interview, Garfield also hinted at his openness to joining another major franchise, provided it aligns with his personal values and creative interests.
“If it felt in line with my soul and was gonna be fun,” he said, adding humorously, “Maybe I’m gonna have like five kids at some point, and I’m gonna need to start saving up for the school tuition or something.”
