The National Commission for Persons with Disabilities has called for the immediate resignation of Ibrahim Tenimu as a public office holder of its commission.
The call was made during a peaceful protest in Abuja, led by Abu Joseph, a contractor with the commission.
Joseph alleged that Tenimu has been interfering with the work of the Executive Secretary, Ayuba Gufwan, and has prevented the commission from being paid for a contract worth 100 million naira that has already been fulfilled.
According to Joseph, the commission has reported the issue to the Public Private Partnership, but they were told to stop advertising the procurement process.
He urged the Federal Government, Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN and Public Private Partnership to bring justice to this matter,”
Joseph said. “Tenimu’s actions have caused harm to the commission and its members, and he must be held accountable.”
The National Commission for Persons with Disabilities is seeking justice in this matter, and their call for Tenimu’s resignation is a significant step in this process.
The protest was attended by members of the commission, contractors, and other stakeholders, who all demanded justice and accountability in the matter.
As of press time, there has been no response from Tenimu, the Public Private Partnership, or CBN.
