Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Nigeria, marking his first official visit to the country and the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister since 2007.
Upon his arrival at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude for the warm reception he received. In his arrival message, he said, “I am grateful for the warm welcome. May this visit deepen the bilateral friendship between both nations.”
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in a welcome message to the Indian Prime Minister, highlighted the importance of the visit and its potential to enhance collaboration across key sectors. Addressing the historic nature of the occasion, President Tinubu stated:
