The Vera C. Rubin Observatory, currently under construction in the Chilean Andes, is set to revolutionize our understanding of the universe. Located atop the 2,682-meter (8,800-foot) Cerro Pachón mountain, the observatory will house the world’s largest digital camera, boasting a resolution of 3,200 megapixels. Expected to be fully operational by 2025, the observatory will offer astronomers an unprecedented view of the cosmos.
