Says it has neutralised 165, arrested 238 terrorists

The Nigerisn Defence Headquarters has challenged former militant leader Asari Dokubo to come to the battlefield and witness the capabilities of the military.

Dokubo had, on October 5, threatened to shoot down a military helicopter hovering around his residence, asserting that he could contain the Nigerian military.

In response to Dokubo’s claim that he could defeat the military, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj Gen Edward Buba, dared him to enter the battlefield and see whether he could indeed contend with the military.

Buba further vowed that the ex-militant leader would be neutralised if he showed up on the battlefield, and he called upon the relevant security agency to address the matter.

Buba emphasised that the military’s primary focus is on terrorists operating in various theatres of operation. END!!!!

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Military says it has neutralised 165, arrested 238 terrorists and also arrested 35 perpetrators of oil theft and rescued 188 kidnapped hostages.

Director Defence Media Operations (DMO), Major General Edward Buba who made the disclosure during a biweekly press briefing explained that the armed forces has intensified its war efforts, through mobilization of lethal forces and air strikes on terrorists, as according to him, troops also understand the importance of momentum and are therefore taking the fight to the terrorist.

General Buba noted that the military operations have destroyed a substantial part of the combat capacity of the terror groups and their leadership, as the notorious terrorist commander in Jigawa State known as Mai Hijabi, was eliminated from the battlefied during the week.

H explained that troops recovered 153 assorted weapons and 2,182 assorted ammunition. The breakdown as follows: 81 AK47 rifles, 23 fabricated rifles, 27 dane guns, 13 pump action guns, 5 locally made pistols, 3 revolver pistols, 30 AK47 magazines and one bayonet.
